“Let a double portion of the spirit which is upon thee be upon me.” 2 Kings 2:9

Elisha comes from Israel. His father name was Yosafet and he was born in the city of Gil gal. he was a servant of Prophet Elijah. Elijah was going into heaven and he asked Elisha, What can i do for you before i leave? And Elisha replied, Let a double portion of your spirit which is upon thee be upon me. 2 King 2:9. Thou hast asked what is difficult, nevertheless if thou sees me when i go up from thee even thus shall it be. We can learn a lot from this that we will have to be looking at the life of the Saints and learn to look like them so the double portion of the spirit they have will be upon us. Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.Hebrews 13:7

But how can we build our faith? The first thing for a person like me should be to ask God for more faith.I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!"Mark 9:24. I always ask myself when is that time going to come for me to live on the word of God and meditate on it on daily basis. "Take it and eat it. It will turn your stomach sour, but 'in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey.'" Revelation 10:9 When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart's delight, for I bear your name, LORD God Almighty. Jeremiah 15:16 . If we desire to increase faith we must consent to its testing. Remember that God has promised  to get us through the trials 1 Corinthians 10:13 and the trials he allows are for the ultimate and good reasons. Romans 8:28. With building our faith we should look like the saints and the ones who preached us the word of God so that their spirit will be upon us.

Remember God is always there. Even in the most difficult times when you don't feel the presence of God, believe that he is there. When you are in the happiest moments and God has blessed you, seek him even more. When you feel like you have been forgotten by God believe in his presence. Remember that we are not born to circle and circle in life, but to worship God everyday. We are Gods workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10.   Remember also that God does not forget anybody. Be strong and courageous. Don't be afraid or terrified, for the Lord your God goes with you, he will never leave you nor forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6.

Daily devotional activities are important ways to maintain faith and to look like the saints. Therefore my dear friends as you have always obeyed not only in my presence but now much more in my absence continue to work out your salivation with fear and trembling for it is God who works in you to will and act according to his good purpose. Philippians 2:12-13.  Many times speaking for myself again i get disconnected from the church, however it is very important to get connected to the body of Christ to maintain faith. So in Christ we who are many form one body and each member belongs to all the others. Romans 12:5.

Why are we called then? But just as he who called you is holy so be holy in all you do. 1 Peter 1:15-16. We are called to be holy and live like the Saints. Dear friends now we are the children of God and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears we shall be like him for we shall see him as he is. Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself just as he is pure.

It is all about fasting and praying. Jesus fasted and prayers. The followers of John the Baptist fasted and prayed. Yet even now, declares the Lord " Return to me with all your heart with fasting with weeping and with mourning. Joel 2:12. Consecrate a fast, call a solemn assembly. Gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land to the house of the Lord your God and cry out to the Lord. Joel 1:14. Then after fasting and prying they laid their hands on them and sent them off. Acts 13:3. Through fasting and prayers we receive what we want and also look like the Saints. This will help us receive the portion spirits of the saints. For we also win the enemy through fasting and prayer. Casting all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be of Sober Spirit be on the alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour. But resist him firm in your faith, knowing that the same experience of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world. 1 Peter 5:8.  Finally be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devils schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers against the authorities and against the powers of the dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put the full armor of God so that when the day of evil comes you may be able to stand your ground and after you have done everything to stand. Stand firm then with the belt of truth buckled around your waist with the breast plate of righteousness in place and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of Peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of Salivation and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people. Ephesians 6:10-18.

But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. Matthew 24:13. Weather it is good or bad, happy or sad, we receive or we don't receive, we should stand firm to the end like the saints. As it says but the one who stand firm to the end will be saved. Mathew 24:13.

For Elijah divided the waters of the Jordan into two parts once but Elisha did so twice and Elijah raised one person from the dead and Elisha raised two. because Elisha received a double portion of the Spirit of Elijah. The main part was that Elisha saw when Elijah go up and he resembled his life like Elijah. For if we look like the saints and learn from their stories then their spirit will be upon us all.

Salutation to Elisha.Glory be to God who is glorified in his Saints. Amen
